Product Overview

Menzolit® SMC 0430 is a low density sheet moulding compound based on unsaturated polyester resin. It is reinforced with glass fibres and contains mineral fillers. The compound offers excellent surface quality while maintaining a low component weight and optimised VOC emission.

SMC 0430 combines a lightweight design with high surface quality, making it ideal for automotive exterior parts. Its low shrinkage ensures dimensional stability during compression moulding. The compound is halogen-free, and free from heavy metals or SVHC candidates. Using chrome-plated moulds is mandatory for good surface finish and reproducibility.

SMC 0430 is engineered to deliver consistent mechanical and thermal performance. Its low density allows for lighter parts without compromising strength. Dimensional stability, excellent surface finish, and compliance with automotive fire and insulation standards make it ideal for exterior automotive applications.

Flexural Strength: 140 MPa (EN ISO 14125)

Tensile Strength: 60 MPa (EN ISO 527-4)

HDT: >200 °C (EN ISO 75-2)
