Menzolit® SMC 0400 is a glass fibre-reinforced sheet moulding compound based on unsaturated polyester resin. It contains mineral fillers and delivers superior quality surface aspect, excellent dimensional stability and mechanical performance. Low Emission grades in compliance with VDA 278 are available.

Its halogen-free, heavy-metal-free formulation meets environmental and safety standards. High mechanical strength and dimensional stability support reliable, precise body panels, while excellent mouldability ensures efficient manufacturing and superior paint adhesion.

SMC 0400 combines excellent mechanical performance with material expansion and high thermal resistance, making it suitable for exterior automotive components. It can withstand continuous service temperatures of up to 165°C and exhibits heat distortion resistance above 200°C. Low water absorption and high electrical insulation support long-term durability and reliability.

Menzolit® SMC 0400 should be compression-moulded in heated steel moulds, using chrome-plated tools for optimal results. Maintain recommended temperature and pressure during curing. Store in a dry environment.
