Product Overview

Menzolit® HPC 1300 is a special SMC for high-strength applications. It is a glass fibre reinforced sheet moulding compound based on unsaturated polyester resin, combining chopped, random, and continuous unidirectional glass fibres for exceptional strength and stiffness along fibre orientation. The compound is fire-retardant, non-melting, and produces minimal smoke in case of fire.

Menzolit® HPC 1300 offers an excellent balance of high-strength performance, mouldability, and thermal stability. The combination of chopped and unidirectional fibres ensures strength and stiffness in fibre orientation, while continuous service temperature reaches 170°C. It exhibits high flexural and tensile loads while maintaining low water absorption, providing durable, reliable components.

HPC 1300 is compression moulded in heated steel moulds, with chrome-plated tools recommended for use. The material’s anisotropic flow requires careful design consideration during part development. Supplied on rolls with styrene barrier film, it includes specific handling and storage instructions. Technical support is available for processing, moulding, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance in high-strength applications.
