Product Overview
Menzolit® SMC 0150 is a glass fibre-reinforced sheet moulding compound based on unsaturated polyester resin. It contains mineral fillers and is designed to deliver safe, durable, high-performance electrical components. The material does not melt or form droplets in the event of a fire, and smoke generation is minimal. Compression moulded in heated steel moulds, it is ideal for lamp housings and other general electrical applications.

Menzolit® SMC 0150 is designed for the electrical industry, meeting UL 94 HB and IEC 60707-3 glow wire standards. Its fire-retardant, halogen-free properties enhance safety in household and industrial electrical equipment. High mechanical strength and dimensional stability ensure reliable, precise components, reducing maintenance and failure risks. The product supports compliance with electrical safety regulations while providing long-term durability.
SMC 0150 offers good stiffness properties and strength with low shrinkage, enabling the precise production of components. It is suitable for continuous service up to 165 °C, with excellent heat distortion resistance (>200 °C). The compound exhibits very low water absorption (<0.5%), high electrical insulation (Surface resistivity: 10¹² Ω), and reliable flame retardancy, making it ideal for electrical housings and other structural applications.

Menzolit SMC 0150 should be compression-moulded using heated steel moulds, preferably with chrome-plated tools. Maintain recommended temperature and pressure for optimal curing. Store wrapped with a styrene barrier film, in a dry environment.
